The Spirit of Techno-Design is an online portfolio by Ms. Saishriya Iyer. The name comes from one singular comment that has been received as common feedback- The fact that my portfolio is very technical at a glance. It aims to consolidate everything that I find interesting and the range of projects I have worked on to date, be it medical textiles, smart textiles, photography, print design, or personal projects like crochet and paintings.

Design Philosophy
Designing, to me, has always been about a second skin. It is instinctive and comfortable. It is designing a habit that translates into a lifestyle. At the same time, it is clean and unfussy and follows the quote,"Less is More". It is utility and performance and aesthetics. It is subtle yet noticeable, when unavailable. It is the core and ultimate contentment.
It is confidence, comfort and safety and like the feeling of a helping hand when you're in trouble. At the same time, it is versatile and has a fun factor, because minimal does not equal boring.
Unless the garment I design is so subtly draped on the body that it is not noticeable, it won't be a good design. And good design is backed up by extensive research, exploratory sketches and delving into a library of resources.
I have always focused on fabric research and performance and this reflects in all my collections as well.
Signature Style
My signature style is based on innovation, experimentation, and detailed research. It is mostly made in a soft style, with neutral color aesthetics. In order to develop functionally sound collections with aesthetic value addition, with innovative and new-age materials, prepared in a way that's ecologically conscious and seeks to reduce the carbon footprint.
It is quintessentially Ivy League preppy but subtle, organized, elegant, and designed from my POV because if I'm not going to use it, no one else is.
My designs are based on calmness and fluidity- something that skims the skin and is not noticeable at all. They are international in wearability and have well-engineered cuts. It is very refined, feminine, and sporty yet very silhouette centric.
